Tiger Airways As Low Cost Carrier

Tiger Airways: Singapore’s leading low cost carrier increasing capacity with six additional aircraft.

Tiger Airways retains position as the leading low-cost carrier (LCC) in
Singapore
 Six additional aircraft to meet growing demand for low-cost travel
 Additional capacity to allow for frequency increases on existing routes and
the commencement of services to new destinations
 Consumers to benefit from Tiger’s great value celebratory fares
Singapore, 26 July 2011. Tiger Airways, the number one LCC in Singapore,
has announced that it will increase its fleet to 20 Airbus A320 aircraft by
March 2012, an increase of 6 aircraft compared to March 2011. This increase
will support Tiger’s drive to capture the growing appetite for low-fare travel in
the Asia Pacific region.

This announcement follows news that Tiger Airways once again received
recognition for its growth by ranking first amongst the LCCs and third overall
in Changi Airport’s first ever airline ranking 1.

The Tiger Airways Group reported 6.2 million passengers for the 12 months to
June 2011, an 18 per cent growth from the preceding 12 months. Load factor
increased from 85% to 86% during the same period of comparison, as Tiger’s
flights became even more popular.

Stewart Adams, Managing Director of Tiger Airways Singapore, said, “The
regional air travel sector is currently booming and our own operations have
been very encouraging. Singapore Changi Airport registered an 11 per cent
growth in passenger movements from January to June 2011. This was led by
a 25 per cent increase in passenger movements for budget carriers during the
same period, demonstrating the robustness of the low cost carrier model”.
“To capture the growing demand for low-cost travel, we have expanded our
fleet by six aircraft. With a larger fleet, we will increase frequencies to our
most popular destinations such as Bangkok and Taipei, re-introduce services
to Bangalore following an 11-month absence and introduce exciting new
destinations such as Cebu to our network. These additions will allow
passengers to explore more places than ever before at great value fares,”
added Mr. Adams.

Tiger Airways Flight Experience

This is my trip report on a low cost airline, onboard Tiger Airways on its Singapore to Kuala Lumpur short shuttle. I had no prior expectations since I knew I was traveling budget but I found a spanky clean terminal building, a pleasant flight and a rather catty stewardess with sharp claws.

Thank you for flying with Tiger Airways.

Manila, 17 February 2011.  Tiger Airways and South East Asian Airlines
(SEAIR) have expanded their “Partner Airline” programme with new daily
flights between Manila Clark and Hong Kong to start on 14 March 2011.  Just
like SEAIR’s existing twice-daily flights between Clark and Singapore, the new
route will offer ultra low fares to tourists, business travellers and Filipinos
working abroad on the important link between the Philippines and China.
SEAIR and Tiger Airways launched their Partner Airline programme in
November 2010, with flights on the Manila Clark-Singapore route.  A few
weeks later on 17 December 2010, the inaugural SEAir flight took off with a
full load of passengers.

Avelino Zapanta, SEAIR’s President and CEO, said, “We look forward to
serving travellers between Hong Kong and the Philippines with our ultra low
fares.  This has been possible because, like Tiger Airways, we are disciplined
in eliminating unnecessary costs.  In addition, using the Philippines as our
base gives us further cost savings which we pass on to our customers.  With
our new Hong Kong services and additional routes to be announced later, we
are excited to contribute even more to our country’s employment, tourism
industry and national economy.”

Tony Davis, President & Group CEO of Tiger Airways, said, “We are delighted
to be expanding our Partner Airline programme with SEAir. Tiger Airways has
established a strong marketing presence in both Hong Kong and the
Philippines which will ensure strong sales for these new services from SEAir.
As we continue to grow this programme with more routes and services we
look forward to achieving greater economies of scale which means even lower
fares for all travellers.”

Approvals from both the Philippines and Hong Kong authorities have already
been obtained by SEAIR to operate services between Manila Clark and Hong Kong.- Tiger Airways
